BRAZZAVILLE, 4 March 2021 – Health regulatory authorities in Angola, Congo-Brazzaivlle and Djibouti have approved the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19.

The three African countries on Wednesday became the latest in a fast expanding list of countries that have approved Sputnik V for emergency use.

The full list of 42 countries account for a combined population of 1.1 billion inhabitants.

Five other African countries – Algeria, Guinea, Gabon, Ghana and Egypt – approved Sputnik V.

Efficacy of Sputnik V is 91.6% as confirmed by the data published in the Lancet, one of the world’s oldest and most respected medical journals; it is one of only three vaccines in the world with efficacy of over 90%; Sputnik V provides full protection against severe cases of COVID-19.

The storage temperature of Sputnik V is +2+8 C, meaning that it can be stored in a conventional refrigerator.
