RIYADH, 16 February 2021 – An Ethiopian expatriate in Saudi Arabia returned a sum of $17,330 (SR65,000) which had been mistakenly transferred into his bank account.

Ghazi Al-Dosari, a citizen in the Wadi Al-Dawasir governorate in the Riyadh region, told Okaz Saudi Gazette that he realized he had wired the money into someone else’s account.

Al-Dosari said he contacted the Ethiopian expatriate into whose account the money had been transferred and the latter immediately returned the money by another bank transfer.

Okaz Saudi Gazette said the Ethiopian national “refunded the amount without any hesitation”, adding that Al-Dosari honored the Ethiopian “by presenting him a financial reward”.

“What the Ethiopian resident did is an example of integrity and good morals that everyone should enjoy, from the initiative to restore rights to its people as an epitome of personal integrity,” said Al-Dosari, while thanking, anew, the Ethiopian guest worker for his truthfulness and honesty.
