Harare, 7 February 2019 – A preacher in Zimbabwe has been fined $700 for claiming to have found a cure for HIV and other diseases.
The 35-year-old Walter Magay, who calls himself a prophet, heads the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries.
Magay said “aguma” – a verbal remedy – could cure multiple ailments.
His claim was that patients who continued to take “aguma” would see their CD4 count disappearing until patients become HIV negative.
A pack of his quack medicines was selling online at $1,000.
The conman prophet had recently introduced a lipstick he claimed could improve blood pressure.
