When the mother tried but failed to get him to breastfeed, she left the baby on a chair, walked away and came back with a sharp panga.

She reportedly picked up the child from the chair and threw him to the floor, but as the baby continued crying, she used the panga to slit his throat.

The woman had to be rescued from the hands of irate neighbors who wanted to lynch her, successfully surrendering her into the custody of the police.

The woman’s spouse was away from the home at the time of the incident. Public health and security officials are working together to determine if the woman has mental issues.
