MONROVIA, 1 November 2020 – Civil society organizations have urged Liberian President George Weah Opong to prosecute all those guilty of perpetrating heinous crimes during the Liberia Civll War.
This was one of the recommendations adopted by the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission in an effort to end impunity.
At a workshop of civil society organizations this week in Monrovia, rights activists stressed the role prosecution must play to ensuring that perpetrators of crimes against humanity and atrocity crimes do not go scot free.
They accused the administration of President Weah of foot-dragging in implementing the resolution.
