LILONGWE, 9 November 2020 – The President of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera has given his education minister one week to find out who was behind the leak of examination questions that forced the cancellation of this year’s secondary school exams across the country.
Chakwera called on the senior management of the country’s exam board to be fired.
New examinations will now be written in January 2021, according to a new deadline set by Chakwera.
He rejected to delay another two months to write the exams in March 2021, saying his biggest desire is to get the education of hundreds of thousands of students back on course as soon as possible.
