ANKPA, 19 December 2020 – A first class traditional ruler in Kogi State, Alhaji Shaibu Usman has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The kidnapping occurred Friday at about 5.30am as Alhaji Usman was entering the Mosque in Ankpa for morning prayers.

The kidnappers had laid ambush at the mosque, according to eyewitness accounts.

They whisked away the traditional ruler, who is currently the Acting Eie of Ankpa, to an unknown destination.

The Nigerian Daily Post reported Saturday that the abductors are yet to make any contact with the family.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Edeh, was cited by the Daily Post as saying the police has cordoned off all entry and exit points into the State, as they work to secure the release of the traditional ruler.
