HARARE, 25 April 2021 – A child has been killed and its mother along with another child injured, after a Zimbabwean military helicopter crashed into their house.
All three crew members on board were also killed in the crash in the village of Acturus, situated some 20 miles (30km) east of the Zimbabwean capital, Harare.
The mother of the child and another young girl were taken to hospital with burn injuries, officials told reporters.
Zimbabwean Air Force apologized for the crash and loss of life, pledging to investigate the cause of the crash.
The government of Zimbabwe has complained in the past of being unable to buy new aircraft.
Harare has also complained about not being able to buy spare parts on account of sanctions imposed against Harare by most Western countries over human rights violations.
